The TNBA Youth Program

The National Bowling Association, Inc. founded in 1939 , is open to both adults and youth bowlers.  TNBA promotes friendship, sportsmanship and fellowship among its members.  All bowlers are invited to join.

Over 3500 youth , ages 4-20, participate in the many National Bowling Association’s fun and competitive activities.  Our bowlers compete in both TNBA and USBC youth programs.

Each year, the four TNBA regions host major handicap youth tournaments: known as our “regionals”.  The highest scoring teams travel to the associations’ national convention for a championship roll-off.  The winning team becomes TNBA’s National Team Champions.

TNBA offers elite bowlers the opportunity to participate in a scratch youth tournament.  Held in a central location, our best bowlers compete for scholarship money and the chance to become the Scratch Tournament Champion.

TNBA youth membership offers the following additional benefits and opportunities:

Honor Score Recognition

Special Award Emblems

“Bowling This Month” Super School

Joint TNBA/USBC International Training Initiative

Junior Council Leadership Program

TNBA offers mentoring and leadership training opportunities through our Junior Council Program.

Through this program, youth bowlers are active on both local and national levels learning what it takes to manage a successful organization.  National Junior Council members can attend the association’s annual convention where they immerse themselves in meetings, workshops and tournaments.  Cultivating the talents of our youth is an organizational priority.  Council members are honored for the outstanding work they perform during Convention week.

Scholarship opportunities are offered through our Junior Program/Scholarship Program.  The National Bowling Association offers $10,000 in scholarships to graduating seniors.  Each year, a top prize of $1,500 is awarded to one boy and one girl.  The scholarship program provides additional support to students as they continue their studies.

TNBA membership is open to any youth bowler who has not reached their 20th birthday as of August 1 of the upcoming season.  Our tournaments are certified by the United States Bowling Congress and the association enjoys the support of several national sponsors.

TNBA Youth Records His 1st Perfect Game

Bull City TNBA Bowling Senate youth member Steven Faulkner burns the lanes up by bowling his first certified 300 game in the Saturday Morning Youth League at Village Lanes on Saturday, March 9th.  Both mother, Teresa Faulkner and son say that the nervousness didn’t take over until the 11th strike.  When the 12th strike was recorded, both breathe a big sign of relief and excitement.  Steven went on to record a 603 series for the day.

Prior to this great accomplishment, Steven’s highest game was 286 and he has recorded a 708 series.  Steven will receive a $50.00 gift certificate for Pro-Motion Pro Shop at Village Lanes provided by the Bull City TNBA Bowling Senate.

James A. Perkins Memorial Tournament Winners

Two Bull City TNBA Bowling Senate youth members were the beneficiaries of the 1st annual James A.
